AUSTIN
ADVANTAGE
Structural Intergrity Spray rubber emulsions adhere and bind all connected surfaces, making your roof stronger than it ever was.
No-touch Technology With professional preparation and custom formulated emulsions, Austin ensures the correct product and application method to avoid costly, disruptive tear-offs.
Eco-Friendly Every rubber membrane is engineered using recycled materials. Our enhancements avoid excess landfill, produce no VOCs and create an insulation layer which, when finished with a UV Thermal top coat, reduces roof temperatures by up to 80o.
MODIFIED BITUMEN ROOFING SYSTEMS
Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems, known as “Torchdown” is a heat applied system that has been known in the roofing industry for decades over time. Some of the benefits attributed to Modified Bitumen Roofing Systems are the thickness and granulated surfaces, which serve a durable, impact-resistant surface, ensuring the durability of the overall roofing system envelope. Preferred Modified Bitumen Roofing System manufacturers include BP, IKO, and Soprema, also used for below-grade waterproofing applications.

- BUR FLAT ROOF RESTORATION
Spray rubber conforms to the extremely uneven surface of gravel without splitting and creates a fully adhered, watertight membrane. When completed with a UV Thermal top coat, it becomes a highly energy-efficient roof as well.
- INDUSTRY HABIT
Typical BUR roof systems are overlapping rubber membrane sheets covered with asphalt, coal tar or cold-applied adhesive to the seams. BUR’s are usually topped with rocks or gravel as well, but use a thin layer of pea gravel or crushed stone as opposed to much larger stones in a ballasted roof. This, however, inevitably leads to leaks and built-up roof repairs occurring at flashing details – anywhere the membrane has a seam or meets a non-flat surface.
- AUSTIN INNOVATION
Unlike BUR roofs, Austin’s fluid-applied seamless system can be custom installed and tailored to meet the particular needs of each individual roof – like flashing, vents, HVAC units and more. Surface spudding, repairs and the installation of a seamless roofing system will make your roof stronger and more durable than the day it was installed.
- THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT AND EXPERTISE FOR THE JOB
Gravel roofs are common, but come with challenges: damage may not always visible, leading to leaks and water intrusions that are difficult to source. By extension, when it comes time for a new roof, the expense and labour of removing and disposing off the old gravel roof can be costly.
A seamless liquid rubber roofing system is ideal for retrofitting an existing embedded gravel roof in order to avoid a costly and disruptive tear-off. In contrast to the most common gravel roof assembly that requires ballast weighing up to 25 pounds per square foot to be placed without fastening on top of a loose-laid EPDM membrane that is again above a rigid insulation board, Austin’s rubber membrane is lightweight and applied, to any thickness, in a single application using a spray and seal method. It does not require any fabric reinforcement or underlayment. And it can be applied to even the most uneven gravel surface without splitting, creating a fully adhered, watertight membrane.
